Overview

The Warehouse Supervisor role is responsible for the smooth and efficient operation of the warehouse and distribution facility by maintaining inventory and supplies, receiving, storing and delivering items, securing the warehouse area and supervising staff.  The primary function of the role is to provide customers with on-time delivery through exceptional customer service while adhering to Company safety policies and procedures.  The Warehouse Supervisor will support the Company vision through a leadership style that encourages a culture of continuous improvement in a team-centric and positive environment.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a working supervisor: Perform hands-on tasks related to warehouse and distribution operations, including operating equipment (e.g., saw, forklift), loading and unloading materials, and managing inventory movement, as needed.
  • Determine work procedures, prepare work schedules, and expedite workflow and rush orders.
  • Assess standard procedures to improve the efficiency of the warehouse team.
  • Assist in the recruitment, hiring, promotion, and termination of employees as needed.
  • Ensure that safety, attendance, and performance standards align with company rules and policies.
  • Ensure all warehouse employees are forklift certified and adhere to safety rules and practices.
  • Review inventory reports for accuracy, monitor routine cycle counts, and schedule special and periodic inventories.
  • Collaborate with the Purchasing team on inventory turns, receipts, and consolidation efforts.
  • Provide retail store support by recommending and locating materials in collaboration with other team members.​​​​​​​
Qualifications
  • 5 years minimum of progressive supervisory experience in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
  • 7 years of experience working in a warehouse or shipping capacity.
  • Experience using a forklift and other equipment to safely move product in the warehouse and shipping areas.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills to deploy appropriate solutions and action plans.
  • Ability to train, coach, and mentor shipping and warehouse associates.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Experience in delegating tasks and examining work for accuracy and conformance to policies and procedures.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
